The Trama tableware collection is a complete dinner set inspired by Japanese pottery with its characteristic and highly refined textures in natural earthy colours and matt finishes. Similar to the pottery associated with country homes, the plates have a rough feel and are further defined by a graphic stroke that elegantly underlines the essentiality of the collection.
A new collection is born which is actually something of a follow-up to my longstanding collaboration with Kartell on the Jellies Family tableware project. It is a further development of a research into materials and applications for tableware. Hence, we came up with the idea of a new line with which to recount a different sort of table by applying certain shapes, effects and looks to plastic, which have been borrowed from other ambits and materials. Its name is Trama (meaning plot or weave in Italian), because of its storytelling function, its tactile nature - equally important in this collection - and its reference to a more geometrical, more austere and more rigorous approach.
